Our Mission & Vision

Mission Statement

The mission of Center of Hope Ministries is to fulfill the commission of Jesus Christ: “Go…and make disciples of all nations…”  Matthew 28:18-20.  To lead men and women, boys and girls to know Jesus Christ in a life changing experience and to grow them into mature Christians.

Vision Statement

“Giving the world HOPE in Christ”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.  Jeremiah 29:11

Our History

After serving the Lord for over 30 years, the Lord impressed in the heart of Pastor Carolyn L. Ellis to begin a ministry that will bring comfort, spiritual aid and agape love to people throughout the community.

Center of Hope Ministries began on the second Sunday in April 9, 2002 when a group of 12 people along with Pastor Ellis, met and held their first worship service. We were later incorporated as the Center of Hope Ministries of the Church of God, which headquarters are in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Pastor Ellis along with others began this work as evangelists by going out into the highway and by-ways reaching souls regardless of race, age, color and creed.  Pastor Ellis spent countless hours ministering to souls, performing home missions, and street ministry in local neighborhoods and in public parks.

The church is grateful to God for its 18 years of existence. We look forward to many more years of reaching people with the good news of Jesus Christ and anticipating a harvest of souls.  To God be the glory, great things he has done!!

Today, we praise God for his mighty work.

We Believe:

  • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin  Mary.  That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
  • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
  • In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
